My husband has developed a new enthusiasm for making cooked breakfasts over the last few months, and I’m particularly partial to boiled eggs with toast soldiers. I’m getting a bit sick of having to cut up the egg carton each time to sit the cooked eggs in on our plates though (while the eggs go cold), so I have bought him some cute little pig-shaped and cow-shaped egg cups. We’ll be celebrating Valentines Day breakfast in style now!

My fiance and I had to celebrate Valentine’s day early this year. We are on opposite sides of the country right now (me in grad school on the west coast, him a Marine stationed on the east coast), but our love for each other knows no bounds. He was in town last weekend though for my sister’s wedding, so we spent a nice early Valentine’s day date in fireplace sipping on wine and playing a solid game of Scrabble! And the day was surrounded by loved ones and friends as we celebrated my sister’s and new brother’s special day!
But you can bet we are also going to have the most romantic Skype date in the world on the 14th!

Last year I came home to a beautifully cooked homemade meal with a personalilzed menu designed on my then brand new DIY chalkboard… no pressure but I’m hoping for the same! It was by far my fav meal memory, such a sweet moment.
