Fab Freebie: Be Jeweled

***This giveaway has reached is now closed – see who won below!***

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day with you guys by giving away some free jewelry, and this year Sherry’s especially stoked because the prize is coming from none other than Kendra Scott – one of her favorite places to request that I buy her earrings for various occasions (like the past two Christmases). Kendra Scott has definitely earned me a few husband points, so this (are you ready for it?) $500 gift card means that someone else out there can score major points from the one they love – or one lucky winner can grab her own jewels for herself. And probably have money leftover to share the wealth with a few friends or relatives. Oh and if you fancy yourself a Kendra Scott in the making, you can even use their Color Bar to customize several of their pieces. So yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kendra Scott Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Kendra Scott
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “JEWEL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …how you plan to celebrate (or not celebrate) Valentine’s Day this year. Is there a special date night in your future? Are you sending your kids off with backpacks filled with cards for classmates? Or are you just gonna treat it like any other Thursday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway ships worldwide. Woot!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

This year we will be celebrating actual Valentines Day at home with our kids and then having our date night Friday the 15th. I’ve got a few small love gifts for my kiddos and will try to make something fun and heart-themed for dinner. Not sure what all the Hubb’s and I will be doing Fri. – that’s his department! :-)

    JEWEL ME!

We are childless (so far) and my husband works in a restaurant and HATES Valentine’s Day. He works it every year and always dreads it, so we usually never do anything. But I was feeling romantic this year, so I surprised him with a Valentine’s Day indoor picnic last week – a solid ten days before the actual holiday. I laid a blanket on the floor in front of a roaring fire and we sipped red sparkling wine while nibbling caviar, pate, baked brie, olive-stuffed chevre, and all sorts of other goodies. He was super surprised, super touched, and it was super romantic. He said he’d do Valentine’s Day every year if it was that lovely and laid back, so I felt like it was a total win. :-)

I hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s Day too!

Jewel Me!!! Those earrings are fantastic (love the red big time)….we will send our 2 year old to daycare with valentines for his classmates, and pray he doesn’t come home with too much candy! I got my husband a new set of kitchen knives I hope he gets in the morning and will give my 2 year old a new book and the baby will just get lots of hugs and kisses….all I really want is to 20 minutes in the bathroom by myself…please.

This valentines day we are going to lay low with a home cooked meal and decent bottle of wine. I am going to surprise my husband when he wakes up after I’ve left for work with Hershey kisses that lead downstairs and to the kitchen with a card that says “Now that I’ve kissed the floor you walk on will you be my Valentine”. So although we’re having a low key days this year I’m still pretty excited!

My boyfriend and I have a long-standing tradition: the cheesiest Valentines Day gift for under $20 competition. Last year I gave him an air-brushed beach scene t-shirt with our names and “forever” on it. This year it’s Etsy mittens sewn together so you can hold hands on long, cold, romantic (?) walks.
I can’t wait to do our exchange this year – it makes the day so much fun!
