Fab Freebie: Be Jeweled

***This giveaway has reached is now closed – see who won below!***

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day with you guys by giving away some free jewelry, and this year Sherry’s especially stoked because the prize is coming from none other than Kendra Scott – one of her favorite places to request that I buy her earrings for various occasions (like the past two Christmases). Kendra Scott has definitely earned me a few husband points, so this (are you ready for it?) $500 gift card means that someone else out there can score major points from the one they love – or one lucky winner can grab her own jewels for herself. And probably have money leftover to share the wealth with a few friends or relatives. Oh and if you fancy yourself a Kendra Scott in the making, you can even use their Color Bar to customize several of their pieces. So yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kendra Scott Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Kendra Scott
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “JEWEL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …how you plan to celebrate (or not celebrate) Valentine’s Day this year. Is there a special date night in your future? Are you sending your kids off with backpacks filled with cards for classmates? Or are you just gonna treat it like any other Thursday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway ships worldwide. Woot!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kendra Scott.

    JEWEL ME!
For years my boyfriend has been against Valentine’s Day. He says, “My ex girlfriend said it best, ‘Why should saying that you love someone on one day matter more than any other day?’. I totally agree with her.”
I used to go along with that, but I’ve finally decided that I’m a grown woman who doesn’t care if people think I’m silly for wanting to celebrate something, even if it’s a made up holiday designed to make you buy stuff. I love holidays, I love giving gifts, and I love my boyfriend.

So I’m enforcing it this year. I said, “I don’t care what your ex-girlfriend used to say. I’m not your ex-girlfriend; I’m your current girlfriend. So if you want it to stay that way, then you can at least buy me some flowers.”

The ball is in his court now :)

    Jewel Me!!

We were married yon Feb 13, but not because of the Valentine’s day proximity – really, it was all about getting the church and the hotel availability for the same day! In hindsight, we would have never done it on the 13th – you can never go out to dinner, plan a getaway, etc., without spending an arm and a leg on crazy, cheesy, forced romance. We usually don’t go out to dinner but we’re going to try this year since Valentine’s is mid-week and we’re hoping it’s more low-key — wish us luck! (14 years and wouldn’t change a thing…except the date of the wedding :)!)

My husband and I are going to a special Valentine’s couples yoga class in my neighborhood — the first hour is partner yoga (which is even more awesome than one person yoga), and the second hour is thai massage. Then strawberries, champagne, chocolate, and a rose for each couple to end the class. We have been going three years in a row, and it is always amazing!

JEWEL ME!! My hubbs and I will be inline skating this Valentine’s Day! Since he does not like the holiday and thinks it’s silly because you should show the one you love everyday how much they mean to you. I love it! Can’t get enough of it! Love hearts, cupid, pink and red!! And chocolates! So, I compromised on inline skating! He likes to help me out as I am unsteady on the silly things. Should be fun tho!!
