Fab Freebie: Be Jeweled

***This giveaway has reached is now closed – see who won below!***

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day with you guys by giving away some free jewelry, and this year Sherry’s especially stoked because the prize is coming from none other than Kendra Scott – one of her favorite places to request that I buy her earrings for various occasions (like the past two Christmases). Kendra Scott has definitely earned me a few husband points, so this (are you ready for it?) $500 gift card means that someone else out there can score major points from the one they love – or one lucky winner can grab her own jewels for herself. And probably have money leftover to share the wealth with a few friends or relatives. Oh and if you fancy yourself a Kendra Scott in the making, you can even use their Color Bar to customize several of their pieces. So yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kendra Scott Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Kendra Scott
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “JEWEL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …how you plan to celebrate (or not celebrate) Valentine’s Day this year. Is there a special date night in your future? Are you sending your kids off with backpacks filled with cards for classmates? Or are you just gonna treat it like any other Thursday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway ships worldwide. Woot!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kendra Scott.

This year, we are marking Valentine’s Day by renting a movie and curling up with our 15-month old and a ready-made meal. Nothing says love like cuddles and wearing PJs all evening.

I’ll be on a conference call with a client starting at 6pm on Thursday so no big celebration for me. I bought myself some flowers so I’ll have a pretty bouquet to look at while on the call. :)

Valentines day will be spent with my hubby at home with takeout from our favorite local Italian restaurant and a bottle of wine. We realized a couple years ago that we enjoy this so much more than going out on a crowded, often cold night.

I have never believed in V day, I think you should show love and appreciation for your partner everyday. My Fiance is a hopeless romantic and loves V day, so to keep him happy because I know it means a lot to him I will make a nice dinner and grab some of his favorite movies so that we can spend some quality time together.

We actually already celebrated. Not having power in our South Boston town due to NEMO, we watched Chocolat on our laptop with a crapload of the sweet stuff on Saturday night. Romantic night in front of our woodstove: check. The fact that is was a necessity just makes a better story.

My boyfriend and I are going to see a film or two at the Berlin Film Festival, (like most others day this week) and probably having a bottle of wine and a cheese fondue at home. We may even break out the chocolate fondue that we just got from a neighbour. Plus we have guests staying over so they are bound to share something in our schedule.

We never really celebrate Valentine’s Day. We both think it’s an over-hyped holiday. We usually get each other some candy and just treat it as a regular day.

The office staff is hosting a decadent “Chocolate Affair” – chocolate pot luck – just what I need to boost my low chocolate level. I’ll also contact those those near and dear (by email or phone) to express my love and appreciation. An extra hug for a 12-year-old granddaughter who celebrates her birthday on this day.
